Treasures of Eastern Europe - Berlin

From the booming financial district of Frankfurt to the remains of the iconic Berlin Wall, you’ll find countless examples of revolution and evolution that have shaped the Germany we know today. The nation’s colourful heritage can be found in the beer halls of Bavaria.

Germany is for connoisseurs of castles, from extravagant fantasies like Neuschwantstein to the genuine article, often ruined, found along the Rhine. Few places are as universally popular as Berlin, and it's not difficult to understand why. The city has a very rich history whilst simultaneously containing the latest in art, fashion and architecture. Munich is the pride of Bavaria - its charming cobble-stoned streets; famous beer halls and festive spirit make it one of the most enjoyable cities to visit in the world. Dresden is blooming phoenix-like from the ravages of wartime ashes to reclaim its former Baroque splendour and title of “Florence on the Elbe”. For further historical interest, sample Nuremberg for the mighty ramparts, traditional markets and St. Sebald’s Cathedral, or visit the medieval city of Rothenburg.
